About the Artist
Claude is a retired New York City educator and school administrator. He studied art at the Putney School in Vermont and the School of Visual Arts in New York. At these institutes, he studied sketching, printmaking and lithography. Since 1998, Claude has been a docent at the Museum for African Art. It was during the exhibit “Beads, Body and Soul” that his interest in African bead painting was sparked. Over the years, he has developed his own style of bead painting. It is an unique technique and genre of beading.
